What is Cisco’s Restaurant and Bakery
Founded in 1950 by Rudy Cisneros, Cisco’s Restaurant and Bakery prides itself on being Austin’s oldest Tex-Mex joint. For 75 years, Cisco’s has served huevos rancheros and migas to famous politicians and neighbors from around the corner alike. The restaurant was purchased by grandson Matt Cisneros and his business partners in 2017, who have worked to preserve the venue’s period charm. In recognition of its importance in East Austin, the City of Austin granted historic-landmark status to Cisco’s building in 2019.
